How can you improve your relationship

In this link- they picked three expert answers to improving your relationship. I picked my favorite answer but you can read the article yourself.

Lisa Oz answered:
Well, I do not think a long, in-depth self-therapy session is practical with every interaction, but there are a few key insights that are broadly applicable. To start is the idea of genuine presence. One of my favorite quotes is, "Wherever you go, there you are" from the movie Buckaroo Banzai. It has that delicious quality of being totally silly and shockingly profound at the same time. Realizing this fact, and living it, is probably the most important thing we can do to improve our relationships. Far too often, although we are physically with a person, our mind is somewhere else. Whether we are on the phone, listening to the radio, watching TV, or just caught up in our own thoughts, when we are not present in the moment - with the people next to us - we cheat ourselves and them of an pportunity to make a real connection.
Another important lesson is the necessity of practicing self-awareness, especially during conflict. The next time you find yourself in an argument, ask yourself what you really want and how your behavior is helping to meet those needs. The answer might not come to you during the heat of passion, but at some point, before you make yourself and someone else miserable, take a moment to create a safe place where you can be really honest with yourself. Once you have a clue about why you are choosing certain actions, see what changes you can implement to achieve your goals, regardless of what the other person is doing. Remember, it is all really about you.

The Secret to a Happy Marriage

Photography by Christopher Vlaun- Pastor Carlos DeJesus

by Julie Hanks, LCSW, for Sharecare
Are you empathetic? Is your partner? It might be the secret to a happier marriage. According to a recent study from Harvard University, being able to accurately read a partner's emotions--and believing that your partner is trying to understand your emotions--is related to couple relationship satisfaction.
This study highlights certain gender differences that echo dynamics I've seen in my clinical practice and in my 23-year marriage:
1. Women are more satisfied in their relationship if their partner accurately empathized with negative emotions.
2. Men were more satisfied when they could read their partner's positive emotions accurately.
3. Women's ability to read their partner's negative emotions was positively linked to both men's and women's relationship satisfaction.

The authors suggested that for men, being able to understand and be empathetic to their partner's negative emotions may feel threatening to the relationship, but women don't seem to find negative emotions threatening. Findings suggest that effort, not just accuracy, positively impacts relationships.
Developing Empathy If your relationship is distressed or if you simply want to make a good relationship better, here are some ways to work on your empathy skills.
Listen for emotional messages The emotional message isn't the same as the words that your partner is saying. Your partner may be criticizing you for not spending enough time together, but the emotional message may actually be, "I miss you and I'm afraid I'm not important to you."
Push the pause button on your own emotions When your partner is expressing something critical, it's easy to respond defensively. Before reacting, take a deep breath and try to slow down your own emotional response so you can hear the emotion behind the criticism.
Reflect back your partner's emotional plea Instead of coming back defensively with, "What are you talking about? We just went on a walk yesterday, and we went to dinner last weekend!" respond to your partner's emotional plea by saying something like, "You really miss me and want to spend more time together. Thanks for letting me know. I love you."
Even if you read the emotional message inaccurately, your effort to understand your partner's emotions will pay off!

Bridal Party- Pretty in Pink Fashionista Style

A Fashionista is one who stands in the forefront of style, fashion and sophistication of their look! Welcome to my Fashionista Bridal Shower for Elizabeth P. This was her idea and vision!
Customed designed cake with Chanel handbag and Christian Louboutin was sinfully divine.

No Fashionista bridal shower would be complete with pearls and accents of pearls.

Fuschia accents set off the black and white stripe linen tablecloths

Sprinkled were photos of saying representing the bride to be style and love of everything fashion!
Touches and shades of pink gave the glamour and elegance of this Fashionista bridal shower. Including votive candles, linen napkins, hydrangeas and roses had the pink fashionista theme!

Invited guests were encouraged to wear shades of pink and black. It fit so well with overall look of the Fashionista Bridal Shower. And what fun they had!
With pink Margaritas and assorted drinks- the fun was just beginning!
Of course you cannot have a Fashionista theme bridal shower without having a Fashion Wedding dress face off.
Everyone had to participate and design a wedding gown look out of bathroom tissue paper!

Even the men participated! And each team was competitive
The judges watched as the designers and models worked together!

Creativity was in the air as veils and bouquets were made! All were winners, but only one took the crown!

CHAD OCHOCINCO and EVELYN LOZADA tie the knot

We have Independence Day to remind us of the freedom we have from England and their monarchy. And now we have the anniversary of Chad Ochocinco (Miami Dolphins) and Evelyn Lozada (Basketball Wives)!
They married at the beautiful island St. Martins,  on the 4th of July and pictures will be seen on their reality show Ev and Chad.
According to Chad Ochocinco-the date was chosen so he would not forget the anniversary. (LOL)
Ochocinco updated his profile picture to show off an image of his and Lozada's wedding rings.
"How many times is Eve gonna change outfits... Is this normal to have more than 1 outfit besides the wedding gown?" he jokingly tweeted late Wednesday after tying the knot.

Read US Weekly for more details at:

Chad Ochocinco also tweeted some wedding photos-which I thought was funny on his wedding tweeting, but cool to share some - check it out-
