Destination Wedding- Miami Beach

www.gotoflorida.net

If you are visiting Miami Beach in the near future or plan on visiting one day... Here are a few tips that will surely make your stay in Miami much more pleasurable; as well as affordable.
Tip #1: Book Ahead
This tip might be obvious to anyone who is a frequent traveler, but it is a crucial part of saving money and making your trip less stressful. Hotels in Miami Beach are usually booked well in advance and tend to be fully occupied -- especially during peak times of the year.
If you make your reservations at least four weeks in advance (or more) you can save a considerable amount of money on both flights and hotel rates.
Many hotels offer a % discount if you book early.
Why pay more for the same exact vacation when all you have to do is book ahead? Not only is it a crucial tip; it's also one of the easiest to implement.
Remember there so many sites that offer very cost effective hotels, but you can count on us to give you the real deal on the deal.
I recommend sites like Trip Advisor- read the reviews!
Tip #2: Location
When choosing a hotel in Miami Beach and an overall location, you must first determine what the main focus of your trip is going to be. If you are traveling on business, you will obviously want to stay somewhere that is relatively close to where your business meeting/convention is. Or you may want to find a Miami Beach hotel that has the best price; if your company is not paying for your lodging.
However, if you are coming to Miami for pleasure or vacation -- You will more than likely want to stay directly on the beach. There are many places to stay along the beach from North Beach all the way down to South Beach and then some.
Believe it or not from the Miami Airport- South Beach is no more than 15 minutes away and from Fort Lauderdale about 30-40 minutes.
You also want to watch for parking-the city has added several brand new parking lots-if you want to rent a car. If you want to just stay in South Beach then catch a cab, a bus or ride our Deco Bikes around.
Tip #3: Hotel Price
For some people, the price is the most important determining factor as far as which hotel in Miami they end up lodging in. There are many affordable hotel deals in Miami Beach, but personal preference is also a factor in my opinion.
Let's say you're comparing two different hotels that have similar rates; but one of them is directly on the beach, while the other is more in town. The prime choice would be the one on the beach of course, so price wouldn't necessarily be the ONLY factor in this decision.
The point is, you will want to find the place that has the most features and amenities, while also having the best price.
These three tips can help you decide where you want to stay and remind you of what the most important things to look for are when visiting a hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.

The Secret to a Happy Marriage

Photography by Christopher Vlaun- Pastor Carlos DeJesus

by Julie Hanks, LCSW, for Sharecare
Are you empathetic? Is your partner? It might be the secret to a happier marriage. According to a recent study from Harvard University, being able to accurately read a partner's emotions--and believing that your partner is trying to understand your emotions--is related to couple relationship satisfaction.
This study highlights certain gender differences that echo dynamics I've seen in my clinical practice and in my 23-year marriage:
1. Women are more satisfied in their relationship if their partner accurately empathized with negative emotions.
2. Men were more satisfied when they could read their partner's positive emotions accurately.
3. Women's ability to read their partner's negative emotions was positively linked to both men's and women's relationship satisfaction.

The authors suggested that for men, being able to understand and be empathetic to their partner's negative emotions may feel threatening to the relationship, but women don't seem to find negative emotions threatening. Findings suggest that effort, not just accuracy, positively impacts relationships.
Developing Empathy If your relationship is distressed or if you simply want to make a good relationship better, here are some ways to work on your empathy skills.
Listen for emotional messages The emotional message isn't the same as the words that your partner is saying. Your partner may be criticizing you for not spending enough time together, but the emotional message may actually be, "I miss you and I'm afraid I'm not important to you."
Push the pause button on your own emotions When your partner is expressing something critical, it's easy to respond defensively. Before reacting, take a deep breath and try to slow down your own emotional response so you can hear the emotion behind the criticism.
Reflect back your partner's emotional plea Instead of coming back defensively with, "What are you talking about? We just went on a walk yesterday, and we went to dinner last weekend!" respond to your partner's emotional plea by saying something like, "You really miss me and want to spend more time together. Thanks for letting me know. I love you."
Even if you read the emotional message inaccurately, your effort to understand your partner's emotions will pay off!

CHAD OCHOCINCO and EVELYN LOZADA tie the knot

We have Independence Day to remind us of the freedom we have from England and their monarchy. And now we have the anniversary of Chad Ochocinco (Miami Dolphins) and Evelyn Lozada (Basketball Wives)!
They married at the beautiful island St. Martins,  on the 4th of July and pictures will be seen on their reality show Ev and Chad.
According to Chad Ochocinco-the date was chosen so he would not forget the anniversary. (LOL)
Ochocinco updated his profile picture to show off an image of his and Lozada's wedding rings.
"How many times is Eve gonna change outfits... Is this normal to have more than 1 outfit besides the wedding gown?" he jokingly tweeted late Wednesday after tying the knot.

Read US Weekly for more details at:

Chad Ochocinco also tweeted some wedding photos-which I thought was funny on his wedding tweeting, but cool to share some - check it out-

I especially liked the picture of his Christian Loubutin- check them out. They so fit his personality.
