A Wedding in Miami Beach

Beautiful large callas by Infinity Weddings & Events,LLC.

This was one of the nicest weddings we ever did!
Curtis, a firefighter and Heather, a student- decided that there would be no better place to have a very intimate moment in their lives than Miami Beach.

They were very sure of the what they wanted and how! Intimate, only them, barefoot, the view of the water, and between palm trees blowing in the wind.

While they were in their state, we handled the acquiring of the marriage license; so they just came to South Florida and enjoyed their stay. We offer this convenience to all our clients- talk about relieving stress.

I picked them up from their hotel to take them to the very beautiful and breathtaking spots- Pelican Harbor.

When she saw how beautifully the palm trees swayed and Curtis' smile- you can see how happy she was. This is a beautiful couple and it shows.
I love that her wedding dress was so simple and yet elegant at the same time. It flows gently in the breeze; capturing every wind breeze.
Standing on the rocks overlooking the beautiful Biscayne Bay- but you can feel the love between them. Powerful stuff!
We then drove them to the beach- where thankfully, the beach goers were going, and were able to capture some awesome shots. The coloring of the lifeguard house added the right touch of POP- keeping Curtis and Heather the focal point of the picture.

I so loved how she had complete trust- that he would not let his beautiful bride fall. The kiss to a happy beginnings.

FUN FACT: The wedding cake has its origins as a fertility symbol in Roman antiquity when a cake, rather than being eaten, was broken over the bride’s head. The idea developed over the centuries into a series of several cakes placed on top of one another.

Island DestinationWedding

We are always doing weddings... something about love and the promise to be with that person- to love, respect, trust and take care of. This is the wedding of Monsell and Katia!
Well for Monsell and Katia- this had a deeper meaning. They are both in the Military and serving our country. Monsell was away in the war and she was at home- keeping the watch for him here. They were doing so much- buying a home, taking care of their family and country, that we never really got to talk. What dilemna! But never fear we do this all the time.

Since we do many out state couples, it is very common to use other means of communications- such as texts, email and Skype. But in this case we did it the old fashion way- through momma and sister.
Well mom is also in the military- so really sister was the life link to them. It is absolutely awesome when everyone is on board for your marriage!
Sisters-Photo by Michael Marko Photography
After all was said and done I thought that they were never going to walk down the aisle! But boy did they do it in style!

She, being a Sagittarius- adventurous and avant garde- had her wedding dress designed to fit her personality. It was a perfect design -fit to her personality and taste and she ROCKED IT! She had the front shortened to give her length, but still kept the fullness and airy feel of the dress. The bodice was a rue-shing design with a beading applique- gave it a fun and fabulous flair!
Bride and her son- Photo by Michael Marko Photography

The family opted to symbolize this marriage with a Sand Ceremony. Each color represents them as an individual.

The wedding party's colors were black, gold, turquoise and ivory. Each bride's maids had a black tea length dress but with a different cut. The flower girl maintained the neutral color
Matching the dapper groom's men!
The once down the aisle and holding each other hands- the sun streams in as the officiant, Lowell Gannon, performs the ceremony!

Once they kissed- shhh- you can't see. We are off to the party
So we leave the island on the skipper off to the marina to eat, drink , dance and be married!

Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza get married!

Well as the title say Mario Lopez and long time fiance, the beautiful Courtney Mazza get married. ABOUT TIME!
They got married in an absolutely beautiful Mexican oceanside near Punta Mita with Girls Gone Wild, founder Joe Francis, lending them his 30 million dollar mansion for the wedding.
The ceremony was held under an all white, ornate, constructed gazebo and the accent colors were a beautiful blush pink. (I see Courtney all over this).
There was also a Mariachi band!
Catholic style wedding with priest, rosary and all.

Lopez' nuptials with Mazza are slated to air on TLC network on December 8.

PROPOSAL:
New Year's 2012
The television star, 39, popped the question over New Year's weekend last year in Ixtapa, Mexico.
'We took a walk alone as the sun was setting,' he told UsWeekly after the proposal.
'I told Courtney that I wanted the mother of my children to have their last name. She was silent at first from shock, then she leaped for joy and did a little jete!'
She added: 'Besides our daughter's birth, this was the best moment of my life!'

COURTNEY:
Beautiful lace Catherdral length veil- mantilla
Gown- Lace mermaid style Ines Di Santo
Second gown for the reception- so totally appropriate- especially since she looked gorgeous in it.
Now to the party: The married couple wall down the aisle after their nuptials, with Gia holding on to her daddy's hand
The Reception is uber elegant and lux. With crystals wrapped around the table and acrylic seating with monogrammed initials, chivarei chairs covered in lace backing and uber lux benches- the view is stunning. A girl's dream wedding come true.

Luxurious: A view of the dining tables, with the chairs featuring the couples monogram with the combined letters of 'C' and 'M'
You also have to check out their dance floor. I always love the LED lighting dance floor- does it not scream to dance all night!! Lights up the night- especially since this was an outside event!
Perfect evening: The happy family danced the night away, with candle lights flickering in the background on the dinner tables

How to stay cool in a beach wedding

So up north the weather has dropped a few degrees and South Florida begins to call all of you to come on down and thaw out.

And while our average temperature is 85 degrees Fahrenheit, feeling so much better than the 31 degrees up north- the heat on the beach can still cause some discomfort. So here is a list of ways that we read from our colleagues to help keep your self and your guests cool while they wait for your arrival down the aisle.

  • Just think it's the coldest day of the year, your body will in few minutes accept the solution, hopefully, and you will need an extra jacket!"
  • Bring a change of shirt should the one you are wearing get a bit sweaty.
  • Sprays anti-perspirant on your feet, back and chest. This prevents you from sweating as much as you usually would and helps keep you much drier than normal.  This is for the men!
  • A black shirt, although not good for being out in the sun, helps a great deal in hiding wet spots when sweating.
  • I also bring a small cooler with several re-freezable ice packs and several bottles of water.
This is small enough (size of a lunchbox) that I can carry it around with my camera bag if needed.
  • I have had brides be very appreciative if I have a cold bottle of water ready for them.
  • I also do not wear a jacket unless the venue calls for it, but by then we are inside with air conditioning.
  • Start out from home well hydrated
  • Carry water and drink it! It doesn't have to be cold, you just need the wet to replace what you lose.
  • Pace yourself and don't over-exert.
  • Eat lightly when you eat.
  • Of course a fan- but there are battery operated fan that even allow some cool water to come out
  • Umbrella- instant shade!
  • Freeze fruits before you go and bring them with you- grapes, oranges and apples- of course watermelon!
  • Wear natural fibers- cotton and linen are popular in the tropics for a reason.
  • And if you are feeling too hot- walk and place your feet in the cool water.
Stay cool here is South Florida and enjoy

Questions to ask when selecting your venue

modern chic wedding at the W Hotel Miami photographed by Maloman Photographers
Photography by Maloman Photography- At the W Hotel, Miami Beach- by Infinity Weddings & Events, LLC.

This is a questionnaire and observation list that I offer my clients when shopping for a venue for their wedding reception.
While it encompasses the majority of questions and observations that should help you in selecting the right venue, it does not encompass all. Each venue is different and if you have some suggestions, by all means please add them. But here is the list of ASK and OBSERVE.
ASK- To see the actual room where the reception will be held.
ASK- The time frames of set-up, serving, and take down.
OBSERVE- How to get to the room- stairs, elevator, first floor.
ASK- Their menu selection and pricing.
ASK- Styles of service- Buffet, Stations, White glove service etc.
OBSERVE- Style and positioning of tables, chairs, electrical outlets.
ASK- If the wedding cake is included- if not, is there a cutting fee.
ASK- If the room has to get changed- what are the other options and back up plans?
OBSERVE- The distance from ceremony to reception.
ASK- What do they provide? What is included? Chairs, table (square- round etc.), Linens etc.
ASK- How many servers and bartenders will be available guest.
OBSERVE- How many rooms they have available.
ASK- If their are more rooms- will your reception be the only reception that day?
ASK- Are there any music restrictions?
ASK- Are there any outside vendor restrictions?
OBSERVE- Is there ample parking?
ASK- Are there any decor restrictions? Draping, special lightning allowed, etc.
ASK- About price and payments- taxes and gratuity.
ASK- Are there any other items you need to know about?

Make sure you print this out and that you have a pen handy to write down the response.
Also make sure you go bit by bit- because in this exciting time- you begin to get side track and start to talk about everything else but the venue. It happens, but as a wedding planner I want to make sure we stay on track and have a spectacular wedding- without any unpleasant surprises!

Have a happy and wonderful time planning.

How can you improve your relationship

In this link- they picked three expert answers to improving your relationship. I picked my favorite answer but you can read the article yourself.

Lisa Oz answered:
Well, I do not think a long, in-depth self-therapy session is practical with every interaction, but there are a few key insights that are broadly applicable. To start is the idea of genuine presence. One of my favorite quotes is, "Wherever you go, there you are" from the movie Buckaroo Banzai. It has that delicious quality of being totally silly and shockingly profound at the same time. Realizing this fact, and living it, is probably the most important thing we can do to improve our relationships. Far too often, although we are physically with a person, our mind is somewhere else. Whether we are on the phone, listening to the radio, watching TV, or just caught up in our own thoughts, when we are not present in the moment - with the people next to us - we cheat ourselves and them of an pportunity to make a real connection.
Another important lesson is the necessity of practicing self-awareness, especially during conflict. The next time you find yourself in an argument, ask yourself what you really want and how your behavior is helping to meet those needs. The answer might not come to you during the heat of passion, but at some point, before you make yourself and someone else miserable, take a moment to create a safe place where you can be really honest with yourself. Once you have a clue about why you are choosing certain actions, see what changes you can implement to achieve your goals, regardless of what the other person is doing. Remember, it is all really about you.
