The wedding arbor allows a framing of the couple in the view of their guests to see that going forward it will just be them- no longer the I, Me, or Mine but now the Us, We and Ours.

These are the colors that I love to use on  beach wedding- it just blends so beautifully with the natural elements all around and gives it that little pop!

The selection of flowers were by our gorgeous bride and they added such a beautiful accessory to the wedding theme. 

Dressed in a gorgeous mermaid style gown and a elegant feather rose in her hair and he in a beige cool suit and white shirt; they added a Miami Beach chic to their event.

Sand, Seashell or Rock Ceremony- Beach Wedding

Rock or Seashell Ceremomy for your beach wedding

The "Rock Ceremony, Sand Ceremony or Seashell ceremony" is a beautiful "unity" ceremony that includes everyone who attends the couple's wedding.  

Although small, polished stones are usually used, the couple may choose to use any other token they desire... seashells, glass or crystal, flowers, etc. As you will see below, the guests make a wish for the couple's happiness and then the tokens are collected into a single container... each rock representing a wish and an individual present at the couple's wedding. Some couples even have small markers for each guest so they may write their name or their wish, like LOVE, HOPE, STRENGTH, etc., on the rock or the seashell. Then, the couple can save the tokens in a nice container (like the one pictured above) as a keep-sake. Also, some couples combine the elements of other unity ceremonies (such as the "Sand Ceremony") and pour sand or water over the collected tokens. The many variations of this ceremony are only limited by the couple's imagination.

As with all my wedding ceremonies, the final wording of any ceremony, or part of a ceremony, may vary from the samples shown on this website...based on consultation and feed-back from the couple.

More and more couples are opting to have special touches in their wedding ceremony. They range from candle lighting to the rock ceremony. In this article we discuss the seashell/ rock ceremony.

ROCK CEREMONY or SEASHELL CEREMONY

Each guest has been given a small polished stone upon arriving.

Before you met, your lives were on different paths with different destinations. But love has brought you together and joined these separate paths into one. Each one of your friends and family here today have been given a small polished stone that represents their unique individuality and their presence at your wedding today. You also each have a stone of your own that symbolizes your previous separate lives, separate sets of friends, separate families and the different life's journeys you once traveled.

I will now ask that everyone please take out the stone you have been
given and pause to make a wish or blessing for happiness and
good will for the couple for the future of their marriage.

Everyone pauses to make their wish. (or only family can come up and give you their wish, hug and kiss and then drop the stone or seashell in the keepsake container.)

Now, we will collect the stones and the couple will then
add their individual stones to the container as well.

Of course this can be changed to suit your desires and again, we are only limited by your imagination!

Every marriage license is issued by a county court judge or clerk of the circuit court under his or her hand and seal. Marriage licenses are issued by counties and you can apply for your license at any county clerk's.  You can get married in any county in Florida, regardless of where you obtained your marriage license. To obtain a marriage license you need:

• Picture ID
• Social Security Card or Valid Passport
• Fees: $93.50. Marriage license fees can be reduced if you complete a licensed Florida pre-marital course.

Marriage license is valid for 60 days after issuance. You must perform the ceremony of marriage before this 60 days has expired. Blood Tests are not required.

State of Florida Marriage License Requirements FLORIDA RESIDENTS

There is a 3- day waiting period for license to be valid. The waiting period can be waived by taking a pre-marital course. A roster of the courses is available at any of the county court houses listed below.
The fee is $93.50. If the pre-marital course is taken, a $32.50 discount will be taken off the license fee. They accept cash, money order, cashiers check, and Visa/MC. No personal checks.
Must present picture I.D. and Social Security card or any other picture I.D. (Passport, etc.)
Both the bride and groom must appear in person at the time of applying.
No blood test is needed.
Marriage license is valid for 60 days throughout the state.

Purple colors for a wedding.

The shades of Purple- from Lilac to Eggplant- these hues and tones are GORGEOUS and it is no wonder why many brides who envision an elegant wedding envision the color purple at least once.

Purple is the color of good judgment. It is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Purple is a good color to use in meditation.

Purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery, as well as royalty. Being the combination of red and blue, the warmest and coolest colors, purple is believed to be the ideal color. Most children love the color purple. Purple is the color most favored by artists. Thursday's color is purple."

You can use purple as the main focus color or accent color like, purple and gold or purple silver. Either or go well with each other.

Or contract it with purple and lime green or purple and orange.

I was reading the blog on CNN.com and saw an article about Monica- R&B singer, extradonaire. And it was showing how she married again, but this time she had her lavish wedding.


This brought about a conversation in the office. We have seen over the years that brides and their grooms who have chosen to have a very intimate wedding, in their future, choose to have the "big" wedding. And those who choose to have a big wedding, in their future, have a small intimate wedding. 


We surmised that it has to do with a feeling of missing out, in both sides of the wedding spectrum. Like when you have a small wedding and your family and friends miss out. The big wedding is the time to party and celebrate in a BIG style.


In this lavish wedding-Monica and her husband, L.A. Laker- Shannon Brown, opted for a renovated 19th century cathedral in downtown L.A., to host the wedding that was attended by hundreds of family and friends, including Lala Vazquez, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher, reports People.

Monica’s two sons from a prior relationship, Rodney Jr., 6, and Romelo, 3, joined Brown’s son in a horse-and-carriage ride to the wedding ceremony.

Guests, who donned shades of blue for the event at the couple’s request, then joined the newlyweds for a “lavish” reception that included cocktails and a three-course dinner. Afterwards, hamburgers from Fatburger lined the grill for attendees to nosh on, and there was also a confection from Charm City Cakes.

Wedding with 100 guest for $5,000.00 in Miami, Florida- is it possible?

So you think that having a wedding in Miami Beach, Florida is going to cost you an astronomical figure...Factor in the cost of flying in, getting a hotel, finding all the right vendors, the perfect dress, the right place... it is going to cost an arm and leg right?? Well, at least your finance's arm and leg.




Well having thrown and assisted in hundreds of events and weddings in Miami Beach, parts of South Florida, and New York City, I have come across some very genius ways that couples have found and have used, to save money and I am not talking about a couple of dollars; I am talking about a couple of hundred dollars. So what did they do? What did they have to give up? Well, really, nothing. No really! Nothing!


First, and I know you have heard this a million times, but develop a budget. Many couples have told, "Monica, budgets are for people who have money" and I always say, well then have your gala wedding, when you have saved for it. But if you have some money saved, someone helping you pay for the wedding and/or your income tax return, then, set a budget.


There are a few wedding websites that offer a budget calculator for free and help you break down what percentage of the money should go where. My favorite is on Wedding Wire.com, oh did I mention that it was free. Cha-ching, I just saved you some money.


Once you have selected a budget calculator, you will now need to factor in all the things you must have, i.e...wedding dress, invitations, stamps, tuxedo/suit, flight, ride, hotel, rings, reception, flowers, food, drinks, music, photographer, videographer, marriage certificate & of course, The Wedding Planner.
Now this is the tinges you must have- so delete and add what is missing.

Can this all be done for $5,000.00? Well we are off to a great start.

Read as I go through this journey and see if I, the wedding planner of Infinity Weddings & Events, can pull this off for my couple from New York City. I have until August 2011. Plenty of time...I hope...
